Background on the Farm
The Triple K Farms are situated on portion 16, farm number 488 Rustfontein, 5 km’s from Bronkhorstspruit town and about 45 km from Pretoria. It is a consolidated farm with a portion of the Shietpoort farm. The Rustfontein portion used to be under Mpumalanga province while the Shietpoort portion was in Gauteng. The farms were later consolidated into Gauteng after the decision of the demarcation board to incorporate Bronkhorstspruit into the city of Tshwane.
The two farms were bought by Moerane and Ouma Maimane in 1999 from the estate of the late Steven Biyozoglu. They were then renamed Triple K, which came from the initials of their three children (Kgomotso, Karabo and Kgolagano). The farm was for a long time used as a cattle farm, a piggery was later established on the farm with father (Moerane) and son (Karabo) investing 50% in that business. At the beginning of 2016, Moerane and Ouma decided to officially introduce a conference and wedding venue after they had hosted a few events on request and maintained the name Triple K from their initial thought in 1999.
The farm is a 250 hectors (approximately) in size, rich in water and host two natural dams and a spring (One of the magical parts of the farm); which has never dried since the farm was bought. The spring flows into the first dam and over flows to another dam. The second dam overflows to our neighbors who also have a dam. The farm also has a borehole with two 5000 litter storage tanks which supply the residential portion, the piggery and the conference centre/ wedding venue.
The conference/ wedding venue hosts a number of facilities as follow:
- Conference/ wedding venue of 13m/13m (169 square meters)
- Ablution facility for males and females
- A dining facility 17m/6m (102 square meters)
- A kitchen (36 square meters)
We are also planning to erect a bigger wedding facility of 450 square meters in the long term to accommodate bigger functions. We however are able to host such big events using marquee. We have hosted big weddings of over 400 people with such arrangement before.
